linda or connie that is the ques!! If the pic on the mantel is Con then it must be me!! Look at the old white roaster under the tree. Mom still has that!! Is this the Greenfield house? I love pic that show what our house looked like. The wallpaper looks like what Mom has now!
ok we do know that the child on the elephant is NOT TAMMY but rather a random little Republican girl!! Tam was afraid of the elephant, well it did swat her with its tail. The one in the elephand costume is most likely Linda.
This is really old. I thought the lady on the right was Ruby but Helen McDermott does not know anyone in this pic so it goes back even farther on the Fawley side of the family. Seems alot of them owned groc. stores and restaurants. Perhaps a Donahoo...Rose Ellen, Ruby's Mom was a Donahoo and had brothers who might have owned this.
In front of mom's house in Stringtown...
Same grocery store as the one we used in slideshow and life brochure. Bum and Nina.
This is a sharpened version.
Dad with Mom Ruby and Grandma Rose Ellen, Ruby's Mom.
She was always stylish...darling outfits. Stringtown... Mom standing in her front lawn... road going north would take you to quaker church.
This whole series is so wonderful...a day at the county fair...early in their relationship...just a glimpse into history. I love it. enjoy. I have to give kudos to whoever took these pix...great effort to get shots of people riding...so photojournalistic for the times. only wish she would have written the date on the back! if I had to guess I would say summer of 1948.
They all smoked...they just did not have the information we have NOW....
Love this... they went all out for this picnic. Mom is eating fried chicken and if I had to take a bet I would say she rung the chicken's neck, plucked the feathers, dressed it and fried it before she got to this point!!
How adorable is Mom in that darling dress?? and Dad with that typical stance...
So what is the deal here? Do you suppose they left trash like that?!
Gosh, they must have been hot in those clothes!! Guess they did not have other options.
Boy you wish this had audio!!
I think he definitely had some issues with his pants that day!!
....and the car they drove that day. wow. love it... and again. I love the person who took these pix.
And this amazing piece to the puzzle tells you where they were. this must still exist in Greenfield, Hillsboro...any ideas Brian?
Dad with Army buddies in Kusel, Germany WWII.
Kip Hill in front of the house that Dad grew up in and was living in when he went off to war and then when he worked at the grocery store and met Mom.
Mom with Paul and John on the farm. Is John holding a Hershey bar??
