It is a tradition we always did with out kids...have the person whose gift you are opening to come sit by you. It gives you one on one with each person and a photo with them and allows the person to really enjoy the art of gift giving... also makes a nice photo to include in a thank you note. YES, I am big on hand written thank you notes.
